Lightshow in Bergen -Norway -Desember 2021

Bli med på en magisk tur i eventyr skogen
Lys i mørket.Når dagslyset forsvinner skaper vi vårt eget lys.
Fra Håkonshallen og Rosenkrantz tårnet i Bergen
Join a magical ride in the fairytale forest
Light in the dark. When daylight disappears, we create our own light.
From Håkonshallen and Rosenkrantz tower in Bergen

ABOUT THE LIGHTFESTIVAL
Once upon a time,
There was a beautiful path through a secret forest.
Every night at sundown, close to Christmas, the forest came to life with magical lights.
All the forest dwellers gathered to create light.
Night after night, the forest became brighter and brighter,
and brilliant lights could be seen from all around…

The enchanted woodland forest that celebrates nature.
There, the majestic stag is the protector of all the little woodland
dwellers who turn themselves into light to sparkle and share their special glow.

Trade in fish was very important
Whaling was also an important source of food
Did you know that Polar Bear was in Bergen harbor in the last century

Over 40 magical lighting installations
LUMAGICA is located at Bergenhus Fortress.
Here, the light park is set up as a magical route where
visitors pass over forty unique and spectacular light installations.
Each installation is a light show in itself.
LUMAGICA's installations use the latest technology in light, smoke and 3D.
The route ends in a dining area where you can buy food
and drinks from food trucks run by local restaurants.
The company MK Illumination is behind LUMAGICA.
Each lighting installation is designed by their own design
team and produced in their own factories.
MK Illumination is known as Norway's largest supplier of Christmas and winter lighting,
and has, among other things,
designed the Christmas decorations in Strandgaten and on Torgallmenningen.

The Hanseatic city .Bergen, was the northernmost outpost of the Hanseatic League.
The Hanseatic office opened on Bryggen in the 1350s.
The ship you see illustrates the important trade with Europe

This was a beautiful exciting trip!
Better than I had thought.
Although there were long queues all the way down to the Orion hotel,
everyone used the face masks and we kept a meter distance.
So one could also enjoy this spectacular with sounds from the forest one spring morning.
The roar from the elk and deer not to forget the amazing Dragon who also blew smoke
We could stay as long as we wanted opening hours from 17.00 to 22.00.
The pictures were taken at 17.00 so it is quite dark with us.
But it was very very cold. So two hours was enough for me

The picture below is from the entrance to the Rosenkrantz tower
The Rosenkrantz tower on Bradbenken in Bergen is considered
Norway's architectural masterpiece from the 16th century.
With its strategic location in the south wing,
the tower has been a cornerstone in the castle system at Bergenhus fortress.
It was beautiful with all the butterflies flying around

Ha det fint alle sammen!
Husk at det nå er på tide å leverer inn ønskeliste til julenissen!

Have a good time everyone
Remember  it's time to submit a wish list to Santa

  7. It all looks very beautiful, but all of this artificial light and the people it attracts, must have a serious negative impact on nocturnal wildlife.

  10. Looks fantastic and the animals are really good sculpted. Here, in their infinite wisdom, the authorities decided to turn off the amsterdam canal light festifal at 5 p.m. due to the covid lockdown. Then they would have been better off not doing it at all.

  17. Festive light displays created by public institutions, municipalities and private home/business owners are found throughout the United States. There are drive-through events, private tours and outdoor viewings available to encourage people to immerse themselves in the beauty of a holiday wonderland. Some individuals spend literally thousands of dollars to produce the "best" displays. If that sounded like a public relations pitch, it pretty much is/was/will be ....

Your photographs of local displays are wonderful, Anita, and I, for one, believe in enchanted forests ....

Other than an indoor, leisure Saturday, today has become an outdoor, snow shoveling day, thanks to 18 inches of the newly fallen stuff ....

    1. Hurray!!you gotplenty of snow!I see you showling and stressing!!Oh life is good!
this year we dont have so much light on the houses it is so expensive. But i know the states has a tradition of having much light like in the movie Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, swears that this Christmas holiday will be the "funniest, most traditional family Christmas ever" - and before anyone can sing "Merry Christmas" he has filled the house with howling folly. You do not believe it until you see it: 25,000 lights on the ceiling, an exploding turkey on the dining room table and an elite squad ready for siege right outside the living room door.
We always see that movie during Christmas
Ok have a nice weekend and thanx for comment!

  18. They are beautiful works of art. The port of Kings Lynn, in my part of England, was also a member of the Hanseatic League - presumably there would have been ships sailing between Kings Lynn and Bergen at one time.

  25. That looks really adorable and magical, dear Anita!
I just have to think about your high electricity costs ... and so much electricity is used there ...) But the "child in me" is happy about the fairytale sight!
There should be something similar near where we live (Illumina in Laxenburg, magical garden of lights - https://www.lichtergarten.at/), but because of the lockdown there was nothing for several weeks now. Today the lockdown for vaccinated or recovered people is over, so everything should be reopened here now. But the Christmas market in our village is canceled ...
However, I wish you a wonderful pre-Christmas season and a time full of LIGHT!
All the best and hugs, Traude
