A beautiful summer day

Ferns! A touch of forest in the garden!
They grow in humid places where the sunlight is only filtered through the foliage-
Like to lie up to look through these!

Daisy: Love - do not love
The daisy is one of the flowers that children know best, although it is not always distinguished between it and balderbra. It blooms all summer.
Green dock beetle
The next generation seems to be safe, to the delight of those of us who appreciated it

Fascinating these small and so important creatures.
Almost weird to think about ... they do not need us, but we need them

Wasp fly! Propagation!

Actually, I was going to take a picture of flowers when these appeared. The wasp flies mimic wasps. The female (bottom) has a claw with which it
can attach itself to the bumblebee's hind body.
It is a real parasite The female lays eggs quickly before the bee / bumblebee buzzes to counterattack. The larva develops inside the host animal and eats it up from within.
Four-spotted dragonfly, Libellula, quadrimaculata,  ca about from my memory

Thanx for watching!

  1. Amazing series of images, Anita, and a fine narrative. For me ferns are among the most difficult species to identify. I keep learning a little, however, and perhaps one day I may even be reasonably proficient!

  6. A natureza sempre nos fascina, mas por vezes apresenta curiosidades arrepiantes como o animal hospedeiro da larva de vespa que, simplesmente, o devora por dentro.
É sempre bom saber, obrigado pela partilha.
    Abraço.
