Spring is on its way at Anitas

Crocus-The sweetest spring flowers
While most of the Norwegian people go on winter holidays in the mountains,
I prefer to experience spring in the city.
It can be quite beautiful. Few people. Empty streets.
Watch fishermen repairing their boats.
The smell of tar and salt water. Take a walk in Botanisk garden-

Tysbast
Daphne mezereum is very toxic because of the compounds mezerein and daphnin present especially in the berries and twigs. If poisoned, victims experience a choking sensation. Handling the fresh twigs can cause rashes and eczema in sensitive individuals.
Despite this, it is commonly grown as an ornamental plant in gardens for its attractive flowers

Eranthis hyemalis, the winter aconite,
Is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae,
native to calcareous woodland habitats in France,
Italy and the Balkans, and widely naturalized elsewhere in Europe

Colchicum autumnale — often called naked virgin or ageless in Norwegian,
but also sometimes called "autumn crocus" (see the glossary there)
 — is a poisonous ornamental plant that is particularly important for the extraction of colchicine ("colchicine") — an important medicine for treatment of diseases
such as gout and familial Mediterranean fever.
Colchicum differs
from crocus in that the flowers have six stamens as opposed
to the three stamens of the crocus

SpringCrocus
They are low growing plants, whose flower stems remain underground,
that bear relatively large white, yellow, orange or purple flowers
and then become dormant after flowering. Many are cultivated for their flowers,
appearing in autumn, winter, or spring. The flowers close at night
and in overcast weather conditions. The crocus has been known throughout recorded history,
mainly as the source of saffron. Saffron is obtained from the dried stigma of Crocus sativus, an autumn-blooming species. It is valued as a spice and dyestuff, and is one of the most expensive spices in the world. Iran is the center of saffron production.
Crocuses are native to woodland, scrub, and meadows from
sea level to alpine tundra from the Mediterranean, through North Africa,
central and southern Europe, the islands of the Aegean,
the Middle East and across Central Asia to Xinjiang in western China.
Crocuses may be propagated from seed or from daughter cormels formed on the corm,
that eventually produce mature plants. They arrived in Europe from Turkey in the 16th century

More Vinterblom
Eranthis hyemalis, the winter aconite,
is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family

Blue Sibiris
It takes its name from the Greek word ἶρις îris "rainbow",
which is also the name for the Greek goddess of the rainbow,

It is spring in Bergen.
We find a rock or bench and sunbathe
Mountain Ulriken in the distance ,Kode Museum to the right,
with paintings from all over the world

The Snowdrop is coming!

My grumpy  little kitty
He is a daddys boy that means, he likes mostly my son
Me, he comes to when food is in the air !

The days go by. Here is someone who multitasks while cuddling with the cat
Oh those young ones!

The weather is unpredictable. We may still experience snowy days
The fishing net is to prevent the cat from jumping over the balcony,
it looks like a scarecrow heh heh

  2. So beautiful, including that luxurious cat! Looks more springlike there than here in TX! I'm not kidding. I think because we've had little rain, as seems to be usual in recent years. Blooms may get their nerve up to try one more time soon.....Glad you are enjoying, and your first sentences make clear why you've probablly made the right choice for the city.....sounds good to me!! Enjoy!

    1. Thank you SC!I was wondering about getting a Scottish Fold too I found this sweet baby kittygirl on the net,But I read the breed is very bad (All Fold cats are affected by Osteochondrodysplasia (OCD) a developmental abnormality that affects cartilage and bone development throughout the body. This condition causes the ear fold in the breed and studies point to all Fold cats being affected by it. Fold cats therefore have malformed bone structures and can develop severe painful degenerative joint diseases )bad and forbidden to breed and have in shows in Norway. So one cat for me anyway he is only a baby.Thanx for nice comment
